In the beginning of Maranatha Fellowship, one of the first goals that Senior Pastor George Hall made was that our worship would be pleasing to God. Through the years, this has taken on many different forms through the various people called to lead. Just as seasons change, God’s mercy and Spirit has drawn us into deeper waters as He has enlightened the Body of Christ to change. Music touches our God mirrored soul in ways that are inexplicable. It makes sense that our prayers – set to music – would touch the heart of our Heavenly Father in whose image we are made.
As we have expressed our heart to the Lord through the years, many styles of music have been blended to create the Worship environment. Old hymns (or their modern interpretation), “Jesus Movement” praise choruses, and contemporary worship songs have been woven together to express our hearts to the Lord and encourage one another.
Our Worship Pastor, Christopher M. Short, is the one tasked with bringing this together. Through carefully listening to God’s Spirit and input from the Worship team, a set list of Scripture and songs are compiled. This is a beginning point for our times together, but we are always listening to the Holy Spirit for changes or additions that allow the Spirit to minister to us as He sees we need.
None of this would be possible without our dedicated, Christ-centered team of worshipers. This includes not only musicians and singers, but the sound and projection worshipers, as well as every member of the body that comes with a willing heart to enter His presence.
